Birds

We have been doing a little study on birds, which unexpectantly came about when Benjamin and dad built a bird house together one afternoon...

 

 

Benjamin painted it...

 

 

and was very proud of his finished product!

 

 

 

And, so started the study! First, we looked at BC's provincial bird: the Stellar's Jay...

we learned a bit about it, its' colors, and listened to some of the calls they make.


We read about different birds in The Berenstain Bears' Big Book of Science and Nature

We made bird watching binoculars and went out in search for birds with our bird seed...

 

We made thumb print birds...

We read a bit about Sea Birds and Birds of Prey...

 

 

We read this story, about how though Sunflowers die, they produce seeds. And, when the flower dies, the seeds drop to the ground. Birds then pick them up and carry them all over, feeding the birds. God is so good!
