Missing Home
The count down begins...I am just hours away from entering my thirties! AHHH!! How did this happen? Oh well...
I have been in Saskatchewan for nearly 2 weeks; the first week and a half spent without my hubby. We sure missed him, and were so glad when he finally made it here to join us. This trip has so far been filled with fun, laughter, some quarelling, a few rough sleeps, some wonderful visits with friends and family, and an afternoon in the hospital with my little girl. All the while missing home and my very dear friends who will probably grow quite tierd of me when I return because I may be a little needy for a while once I see them!
It's weird being in the city you spent your entire life in, but not feel home. Home truly is where your heart is. We are blessed.
We are here visiting as my mom's wedding fast approaches. The busyness of wedding preparations while tending to very busy, very tierd children has been quite the task. Tonight I had a break from it all when we took the kids to the movie theatre. And now, the completely exhausted children who are just as done as me with this whole vacation thing, are fast asleep. And, I am sitting here wishing I was going to be waking up to my first day of being no longer in my twenties in my own bed, listening to nature outside my window instead of rushing traffic,
In a few more days we will make the long journey home; the drive home really is quite enjoyable and we stop half way for the night. The kids get so excited to stay in, what Rachel calls, a "Whole-towel". Funny girl. Hopefully everything will be relatively ok once we get back; tonight I learned that the boy watching our flock had discovered our goat broken through the fence and our cat soiling the floor. But, other than that, I think things have been under control. It's hard going away when you have animals to worry about! But, after this trip I think we will all be ready to stay planted for a long while.
So, on my last night being under thirty, I miss home. Kind of a sad feeling, really. But, I will be back soon. And, to "my people" (you know who you are) love ya and can't wait to see you...
