School week

Rachel has been studying daily and seasonal changes the last couple of weeks. Lots of reading and discussion, as well as some fun worksheets! I'm loving these "Read and Find Out Science" books.

I also LOVE this book!!

Ben is studying the solar system, and is writing some fun facts about each planet right now. This is right up his alley!!

Benjamin is a kid who loves math, and he's great at it too! He finished up a unit on measurement, and after a review on some other math skills, he will be starting a unit on weight.

Rachel is not as keen on math as her older brother, but she's been working on addition and subtraction of numbers up to 20. Perhaps I need to look at some more enjoyable ways of doing this with her...

I have been using sequential spelling with the kids, and both kids' spelling is improving!

It's so funny to see the difference in personalities and strengths vs weaknesses...Ben loves math and science, where as Rachel loves to write!

The kids have really been enjoying these art books they got for Christmas...

Today, the kids finished writing out Phillipians 4:6-7...Benjamin memorized the whole thing, no surprise there!! Rachel did really well, only needing help with the second half :)

For grammar, the kids have been working on nouns and verbs, and we also did this...

In social studies, Rachel is doing some mapping and Benjamin is learning about government. They are also both working on this as well...

Both kids have been keeping busy and active with lots of activities and outdoor fun, as well as chores, chores, and more chores!! Yes, that's helping me out a lot these days ;)
