A Little of This, A Little of That

We started December with a shoebox nativity, and a homemade nativity advent calendar...

 

 

We have been filling our days with school, Christmas music and Christmas movies, and playing outside in this beautiful weather!

 

For Social Studies we started reading this book...

 

we have been talking about technology in the home and this is a great book!

 

 

For math, we took a break from our regular math book and talked about 2D and 3D shapes...

We took household objects and grouped them according to shape: sphere, cylinder, rectangular prism, cube and cone...

In Science, we have been talking about the properties of objects. Today we talked about man made objects and God made objects (natural objects that come from the earth)...

 

Benjamin was very quick to make the connections between the man-made/God-made objects; how we need the God-made objects in order to make the man-made objects...

 

 

For Language Arts, amongst our regular printing and reading, we have been reading Charlotte's Web. We started our lapbook...

School has been going wonderfully! Gymnastics is finished until the new year, and there are only a couple of more music classes before the big concert! I am looking forward to a break from it all, and a visit from "1 Grandma" ;)
