Rock Solid

The wise man built his house upon the Rock,

The foolish man built his house upon the sand...

The rain came down and the floods came up;

The house upon the Rock stood firm,

The house upon the sand went SPLAT!

So build your house on the Lord, Jesus Christ

Today we did the letter "R"; So, I suppose you can guess what word we did! Yes, we did "rock". So, who is our Rock? Jesus, of course! We did this little demo of a castle in the sand, and a shack on the Rock. But, this story has quite a bit of meaning to me, as well, that I would like to share with you.

You see, 2 years ago Andrew and I had it all: a brand new vehicle, a huge, fancy house, brand new furniture-everything you could possibly want. It was definitely over kill. But, we got it in all the wrong ways and for all the wrong reasons. And, the glory was not being given where it was due.

Now, we may have less materially. But, our house is slowly being built back up on a Rock solid foundation; Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! I just love this Biblical analogy; it is so true, and a great way to explain to kids that we need to build our life on God's word.
